HOLY STAR could get it right on the third time of asking. He has run two good races in a row and should prefer the drop in distance. RAGING MOON wasn't far off in a competitive race on debut. He could have more to come and has drawn well. LARIUS LACUS needed his last run after quite a break. He showed pace and stripping fitter could get into the places. R900,000 Vercingetorix colt WILD JUSTICE could be the first-timer to be with.

VANAKKAM finished runner-up in a feature and should have won by now. Last time she found the distance a bit far in a Listed race but this could be the right race. ENGELANDPARK found herself too far back on her Western Cape debut. She made progress at the end and needs to be respected in her second start. BELLIGERENT is another likely danger. She stayed on well in her last start but is dropping in trip and will need to jump on terms. PERFUME POWER showed good pace second time out and can earn again.

LUCIENNE can open her account after finishing runner-up in her last two starts. She knows the track well and should prefer being back up in trip. PRIORY TERRACE found only one better after showing good pace over the track and trip on debut. Both race for stables in good form and could fight out the finish. ARE YOU SURE is costly to follow. She has form but needs to get the timing right over 1200m. CAPRICIOUS MISS proved in need of her debut experience and is looking for the distance so can only improve. Well-bred newcomers to consider.

FATE OF FORTUNE came back from a long break to win in good style last week. If he takes his place again he could follow up. He has drawn well but interestingly has yet to win on turf. All three of his stablemates could also be in the fight. PURPLE POWAHOUSE finally won and with his confidence boosted could finally add a win at this venue. ULTRA QUICK has been a bit disappointing but he could suddenly turn in a winning effort. WHEREVERILAYMYHAT ran a nice race when dropping in trip last time and may progress further. HAPPY WANDERER, NDAKA and ARVERNI PRINCESS all have claims.

ESCAPOLOGIST did well to run third in the Listed East Coast Cup and if seeing out the extra could show the strength of that form. She enjoys the track and has drawn well. Sean Tarry trained ARTIC SILVER won her maiden by a street and gives the impression she can go ground. She must be taken seriously. KING BAVARIAN is another who won as he liked and he too should have no problem with the extra. He carries a light weight and could be hard to fend off. BAD MEDICINE's last run is best ignored. He is capable of better. BASIE RAAKVAAT is consistent and looking to get rewarded.

Another competitive event. There was not much between PLAZA ACCORD, TIRPITZ and IMPOSING and it could get close again. All three enjoy the course and distance. STRATHCLYDE finished well behind PLAZA ACCORD previously but is a strong frontrunner that could keep going if back to best. Filly LOCK AND KEY is highly regarded and has wins to come. She is one from one at this venue and the distance is what she is looking for. Almost all have earning potential, it could be a race to go wide in exotic bets.

Some smashing talent in this one. LION RAMPART has shown himself to be one of the best around. He will be going for the top races and could make a winning local debut in his third run after gelding. CYMRIC is another with high-class form and on that will win more races. His form lines are working well and he could make a decent debut for his new yard. UN BEL DI had things go wrong last time. He could bounce back and get his head in front. I AM GIANT was third in the Grade 1 Golden Horse Sprint last year, so watch out. DONQUERARI, LUHAMBA PHAMBILI and HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE merit respect too.

One of the top juveniles from the yard of champion trainer Justin Snaith, BLACK CHEETAH, is a big attraction on the day. He has done little wrong and could make a smart handicap debut in open company. But he meets hard knockers of all shapes and sizes. TRIPPI T is one of the most consistent around. He has gate No 1 and could come out flying even if racing after a rest. IBHELE has been a bit frustrating but should get it right one of these days. RAFA'S BOY won in good style and if in the same mood can follow up. MAR DEL PLATA is one of many in a big field with earning potential.
