Fravanco is on a dangerous mark and looks interesting for the same team that won this last year, while Charlatan has possibilities on his step up to 1m2f. This looks a golden opportunity for VLAD, who has finished runner-up behind odds-on rivals in both his starts and sets a clear standard. The one for the forecast spot could be Orange Emperor, who shaped with some promise on his Goodwood debut and should know more this time.[David Moon]

Night Step makes the shortlist following last month's promising Leicester return, but there are others in here open to plenty of improvement. AW debutant Moutai (second choice) and Take The A Train fall into that category, but the selection is RAEDWALD (nap) who is bred to relish this longer trip on his handicap debut.[David Bellingham]

Woodhay Whisper and Royal Accord are consistent but they also both attempt 7f for the first time. Preference is for the latter who looked worth a go over this far when second at Brighton last month, but they may be vulnerable to an improver such as LINEAR SPIRIT who should appreciate the return to this trip and is open to progress now switched to a handicap. Kessaar Power (second choice) bumped into one last week and he's a big player in classified company, while No Gain needs a close market check as she has threatened better on a couple of occasions. The handicap newcomers Dubai Treasure and Ultrasoul need a close look on their return to action, but slight preference is for Andrew Balding's 3yo WHITE CROWN STAR. This Kempton novice winner has finished placed in all of his three handicaps and is on the same mark as when third in a big field at York 19 days ago.
